The A List - Quarterbacks

On a crisp, fall Sunday afternoon is there a finer sight than the spiral of a perfectly thrown touchdown pass? If that pass is attached to 40 or 50 yards, some fantasy football owners are in heaven. In 2007, having a top flight NFL fantasy football quarterback has nothing to do with team wins and losses; just yards and touchdowns baby…just yards and touchdowns. This list is for entertainment purposes only. Presenting: THE A LIST

Passing Fancy – If there are no great rbs, left you might wanna take a shot at these guys.

Peyton Manning – Mr. consistent, pencil in 2 touchdowns and 250 yards a week ….at least.

Drew Brees – in a wide open system, with a coach that loves to spread the ball, Drew can’t help but put up monster numbers in 2007.

Carson Palmer – will put up monster cumulative numbers for the season, but weather and playing in a tough conference will hurt in a few games this year.

E-Z Pass – these quarterbacks will keep you more than competitive.

Tom Brady – we all have witnessed his greatness in the past, but this year he actually has NFL caliber wide receivers.

Donovan McNabb – the combination of rushing and passing yards make Donovan a high pick, (insert injury disclaimer here) if he can stay healthy for the whole season.

Marc Bulger – with the defense the Rams play, Bulger will have to pass as the Rams will have to outscore teams to win games.

Passing The Old Guard – young guns that will make noise in 2007.

Vince Young – someone forgot to tell Vince that he isn’t in Texas anymore; he will continue to do whatever it takes to win and put up better passing stats as he grows in the pro game.

Matt Leinart – the weapons, weather and offensive game plan are all in place for this bird to take flight.

Phillip Rivers – someone will become a quality wide receiver in San Diego; if not Phillip will continue to pile up stats using LT and Antonio Gates.

Passed Their Prime – quarterbacks on their last legs

Brett Favre – isn’t it sad to see a legend go out like this? He will put up stats, but his interceptions will cost ya.

Trent Green – can someone tell me why the Dolphins wanted this guy so bad?

Steve McNair – still steady, but so fantasy football unspectacular.

Puff, Puff, Pass – quarterbacks that can make plays but not carry a fantasy football team for the whole season. A good game from these guys can make you forget other deficiencies for a little while; dependency on these guys to carry your team is not a good thing.

Tony Romo, Michael Vick, Matt Hasselback, Jake Delhomme, and Alex Smith are worth a look.
